1984 Raleigh Mag Burner Custom. Pic Heavy.
Retrodan72:
Right, I started this by accident earlier last year. A guy over on RB.com owed me some money so I took this in lieu of payment, Nov 2012.
Anyway, a pal of mine Crazy Dave who's a powder coater is building a Dyno Compe frame and forks I gave him, and when he was in the man cave last June collecting some parts suggested that instead of payment, he'd powder cost this for me. ;)
So when it returned, it stood for a few months, but after looking round the man cave, realised I had parts to sling on it. :coolsmiley:
Now, I know Burners aren't everyone's cup of tea, but RAD has been slated previously for showing snobbery towards them. But in my new role as a Mod, I'm hoping to change that, like it or not, they were part of UK BMX history, so if you don't like it, move on. :LolLolLolLol:
So, here's a few progress pics:
And the finished pics:

Great work Dan the Mod ..... now you have risen to such lofty climbs are you the one that is supposed to bring balance to the force? :LolLolLolLol:
I hope this involves poles, scantily clad ladies and a tent at MK14 :LolLolLolLol:

Nice job :daumenhoch: looks great and nothing wrong with a burner. Most of us 80's kids started out in BMX on one, or something very similar.
That Swan Guy:
That my man is lovely :daumenhoch:
I never had a Burner although I did ride my cousin's from Smuggy c**thorpe to Brigg once only to find they had bulldozed the track!
Not my best idea ever. :idiot2:

I generally prefer mk1 burners tbh Dan, but that is REALLY nice. Looks mint, and love just a splash of colour. The orange/green/white combo looks super clean & crisp. The customised decals look
really cool too! Will it get an outing on one of the rides this year? :)
