It does help me to manage my funds better Ash, I usually try to span it out over 3 months.

I do the same as you re: grabbing stock, I just grab it from Alan's and Porkchop's stock.  :LolLolLolLol:

I kept a part list in a notebook for my latest build to keep track on parts needed/got and cost to see if I'm in budget - I wasn't  ;D

Great idea on excel - May use that method for my next build  :daumenhoch:

I have an idea in my head then buy everything ASAP at whatever the (normally extortionate) cost may be then take it all to Steve who in turn tells me nothing fits so I go and buy a load more (extortionate) crap and this cycle continues until finally I get something which looks vaguely familiar to my intended vision.
