Curtis Cruiser - Update 24.2.14
Gashead:
Ok Curtis Owners, as you know I went to see Brian Curtis yesterday where I first spoke to him about this project around 5 years ago, however where on. Brian has my cruiser and is measuring the geometry in readiness to make a jig. He is going to make a limited number of frames, identical to the original cruiser. The frames will be finished as 'raw' so to see the awesome brazing and workmanship. You can then do as you please, leave, lacquer paint or chrome it at your expense.
We are working to get the tubes pre polished as in the 80's, so if chromed, the finish would be flawless.
So to be transparent, the cost of the tubing is c£140, and will take two days for Brian to make. He is asking £400 for frame and forks (which I think is very very reasonable). I have no financial interest in this project, simply taking the administration away from him.
He is also offering YOU the chance to visit, so to watch YOUR frame being made, so to either stamp your initials on the BB, however there will be no 'bespoke' requests (sorry), for an extra £50.
If you are interested, please contact me direct and not Brian. Guys, any questions, please ask me, this is a one and only chance of owing a bit of history, so please let me know.
He is only planning on making 20, and I have orders for around a dozen already, so be quick.
I would imagine that once the jig is made, he will start building in the spring and throughout the summer, remember he is 74 years old, so please be patient.
cheers Nick and Brian.

Jaan:
Will he be producing any cruiser bars?
jimwise68:
Does he want a 45 year old apprentice? ::)
Gashead:
Chris, we are looking at cruiser bars, but only discussed the frame and forks.
Cruiser bars will possibly six inch rise of these, as he didn't originally make any.
As for an apprentice, he has a 44 year old already lol
