I think it's the bleach ingredient that does the trick mate. I picked up another bottle today, as it was on offer ;D As for the scourer, i used a green one to get the brake rub off- the braking surface isnt scratched.  On the rest of the wheel, i used a well used scourer-one of the ones on the top of a sponge.
