skyway and forks problem
scott4315:
hello all,
I have put some new skyway's on my iron horse dirt burner, the back looks fine apart from the long axle, but the forks at the front are quite a bit wider than the nuts on the skyway axle.
So when tighten the outside nuts the forks are not resting against anything and the wheel is not secure and just drops off when I raise the bike. Is it a matter of just filling the gap out with more nuts?
hopefully I have explained it well enough?
pickle:
yes, you can use a couple of nuts or just washers depending on the size of the gap :daumenhoch:
Gnarlyscoots:
Find yourself some wide spacers to put on the axle on the inside of the fork drop buddy. When you do the nut up, it will press the drop against it, thus tightening the wheel properly :daumenhoch:
scott4315:
thanks for the replies, yeah the wheel came with two nuts either side which sit on the inside of the drop out, the space left is about a nut and perhaps a washer, but this may sound daft but what would I use as a spacer that you suggested if not a nut and washer?
