Pulling out alloy hubs on tuffs

Hmoon27:
Sure there was a thread on it somewhere but can't find it :idiot2:
Anyone point me in the right direction?

I repaired that hub. It is time consuming. I laid the wheel on a workmate, protected by towels etc. Opened the workmate up so the hub was lying in the 'gap'. As the thread says, you need to use a drift and a hammer and a lot of brute force, but eventually it will straighten up.

Post some pics of the wheel so we can see how bad it is :daumenhoch:

MartyC:
I'm sure someone rigged up a "puller" type tool to do this.  I know bitd my mates dad made up something but he was an engineer and I can't remember how it worked but essentially it pulled on one alloy flange while pushing on the other.

I have punched a few back straight  ;)
