Seatpost won't go in -haro gen 1 / gt layback ****`SORTED*****
Julian347:
Is the post slightly bent?

you know we want pics

There may be some rust inside the seat tube. Might be worth giving it a light sanding down. I use a piece of sandpaper taped to a round piece of dowling wood or the handle of a screwdriver. Do a small bit at a time. Don't go crazy as you want the post to be snug, but still be able to be moved.

This is excellent at getting big things in tight holes :daumenhoch:

cheers for all your replies dudes.
i have inspected the frame and appears to be paint / rust free.
its a gt stamped seatpost 22.6mm see picture.
that anul lube is shi-ite - i lost a good butt plug because of that stuff. - made the bugger perish.
shall i just go ahead and buy a 22.2mm layback ?
who wants this gt layback - i sanded some paint off ( to see if it would help 'entering ' ) - but is still cool. ?
