Seat post slightly too big,freeze it ?!

I have a seat post I am trying to get into my Decoster but for some reason it seems a very tight fit.
I know it's oldschool size as it came out of a Puch I split ages ago.
It also won't fit a Haro FST I have.
I have seen on here about freezing BB cups so they go in easier so will it work with a seat post ?

Sounds like it's either the wrong size or it's coated in powder.

Are you sure its not a section of scaffolding or lamp post as that won't fit?
