Perhaps these repop tyres are a bit bigger than they used to be ??? Deffo no room for the cable on either bike it's catching on the tyre as it rotates

Well it looks like eat my words time 😞😞
Inspired by Terry & Damo's posts I removed the wheel again for a fiddle about. The end of the steerer tube is shorter than the gen1 so I had a root round in the spares box & found another old cable, it's a little bit thinner & seems more flexible so gave it a try.


It's very close & the angle is a bit sharp but it works !!!!

I got similar with my landing gear. Not proper sorted it yet, just lookin at it n wondering how to get shot of the tyre rub without kinking the cable....sigh.
