Suntour Slant stem ???

Alright chaps,

 I just bought this gold Suntour stem off of a member on here. The original for sale thread has been updated & the original picture was from the top of the stem from memory.

Now it's arrived it looks a little odd, I've had LOTS of Suntour stems (they are one of my favourite parts to use on builds ) & i noticed n the advert that this stem had a Potts mod (which is fair enough) but the Stem is slanted ..


Ive never seen a slanted Suntour.. Did they make them & if so does anyone know what they came on ?

Apologies for the blurred image but you can clearly see the difference in the profile of the stem .

I had one like that but without the Potts Mod. Was a gold one too.

Suntour Slant stem was about in late 70s to early 80s and superseded by the non slant version.  not sure they really came on any bike per se as around that time Suntour were an after market item than a factory fitted one.
