Just to get back on track - its not about the money. I'm happy to pay for what i need for builds and can just as easily walk away from what i think is excessive. I've never done the Hutch, or VDC thing for this reason.
I'd love to own some of the VDC builds that i've seen, but i've a couple of kids that take priority money wise. Pre kids i'd have bought a Nomura without a second thought, but i like to think i've got my priorities right?
To quote the great Peter Griffen, what really "grinds my gears" is the blatent misrepresentation of some parts that is basically just fraud. I accept the old buyer beware argument as well as the fact that genuine mistakes happen and i never get my knickers in a twist without good reason.
I'm just titsed off with the muppets who think they are being clever trying to screw people over for the sake of a couple of days wages. They should really just get a paper round and grow up, go back to school, get a proper job if they're that desperate for money.

Sorry for taking it off track a wee bit Bert but I can't help pointing out that a tatty supergoose or the bike below for the same money, this is where you start to realise that the price of bmx stuff is getting out of hand a bit.

Really...? Using gold & platinum?! That seems expensive...

I agree... £1500 should build you more than a tatty Supergoose.
For me It's all about biding your time, waiting for the right part at the right price and when needed putting your restoration skills to the test. Think some folk get the impression that if it's not NOS it's not bling. :-\
I've usually got three builds on the go so i pick up bargains for my builds as and when. When you've only got one build on the go and need a part your limited to what's available at the time and perhaps feel you've got to pay through the nose to finish it. ???
There's plenty of chancers out there tryna make a quick buck and drive prices up but there's also plenty of decent folk who aren't. :)
Patience is the key. :daumenhoch:
