did you just grind off the excess clint ?

No. It all got knocked back round a solid steel rod the same diameter as the inside of the head tube. I bought a planishing hammer to do it properely.
Took a while, but coaxed it back a treat  :daumenhoch:

nice . oh . was it all out of wack inside the headtube ?
