Adding links to a chain....

Right then....
Bought a new Izumi chain from Alan's BMX,but like the dickhead that I am,I have cut it a tad short for what I want.
The wheel is in the dropouts but right back in the slot.
As the wheels I have put on the bike are temporary,if I put wheels on with a bigger freewheel then the chain will deffo be too short.
So my question is,is it possible to add two or three links to the chain using the tool that I split it with?
Or can I just get another split link and add the links that way?
I do plan to ride it a bit so what's my best option?

So how do I it?  :-[

That Swan Guy:
If, when you've shortened the chain, you popped the retaining pin out of the link completely you've made life hard for yourself. When you shorten a chain never fully push the pin out. Push it until it sits in the outer link hole so if you need to add it to the chain in the future it is ready to go. To break the chain with the pin still there, but only just, in the outer link you just need to twist it and it will come apart. Then to remake the chain, unscrew your removal tool sufficiently to allow the protruding pin to sit inside and be pushed in when the tool is tightened. Watch out as this can cause the link to become tight, by exercising the new link it will free it up and be good to use. Watch very closely how far you push the pin back in and make sure it's even both sides of the link.

If you've popped the pin out completely you've entered a world of pain! Getting it back in is a mare. Go buy another split link!

It really is simple and your tool should have instructions with it. I'm sure there are a million youtube clips out there.
