Bet they're old odd skateboard wheel bearings or something daft. They look a snug fit from your pics & the boa arms don't appear to be modified  :chin:

Nah... skateboard wheel bearings are LOADS bigger ... will take a pic if I can be fooked  ;D

just measured the bearings used in the brake. o.d is 18.97mm, i.d is 9.99mm and width is 5mm incase anyone wants to have a go at making one.  :daumenhoch:
