shimano dx pedals paint or ano?

anyone ever stripped the original colour off them ?I won a nos gold in the packets set off e-bay about 5 year ago
listed as sx for £50.they were on a show bike and got a few scratches on the ends so I thought i'd spray one
metallic silver just to see how it came out.it looked pretty good when done but I shot some nitromors on anyway
to take it back to gold.when I went to clean it up the gold which I always thought was ano was coming off as well
in big pieces.when I look at the red dx's especially that finish looks far too rich for 80's ano so has anyone ever
stripped other colours?

Yep, stripped some used blue DX with Synstrip - took a couple of coats, but definately plain ole paint ;)

been looking into the ano process a bit and they say cast alloys don't ano very well
with them being slightly porous you cant get an even colour.everyone always says
their ano'd but i'm pretty sure they aren't after this.

Read on here a few times that they're not and never was annodised.  :daumenhoch:

Painted with some hard arsed clear tinted paint
Except black and silver which were a solid paint
