My next build... 83 Quad
« on: August 19, 2015, 10:47 AM »
Managed to get this beauty via Joff a few months back. I wanna do it justice as a tribute to the OM ( RIP ). I've only got some lovely unknurled power wings for it so far as BMX was put on temporary hold so I could save for my USA trip.
Being a bit OCD I'm gonna have it re-sprayed but not sure what direction to take as yet? It's definitely going to be black and gold though.
Andy's got me some nice black tuffs as an option but should I go for black zeds or some gold arayas or Ukais ?
Crank wise should I go for a sugino maxi  cross/gt or tagaki 3pc or keep it smooth with sugino/sr opc ?

Do I have to go comp IIIs and make it a race bike or could I get away with comp Sts and make it an early freestyle/street quad?

What do you think lads?

Anyone who's bringing some lovely gold parts to MK please come see me as I could be very interested!  :daumenhoch:

Cheers as usual, Ant

It's the flooring that makes those pictures mate!!
It's weird cos I had almost 3 weeks without BMX in the states.. Want to get my head back in bike building mode ASAP in case there are some lush parts around for sale at MK!!

If it's the original paint I would just change the decals..
Mine has a few chips here and there but being black I bought some black paint and touched in the marks and looks fine...
The decals I had from del lifted the look of the frame and looks more fresh like the decals on you forks..
I got black tuffs to use when riding and the zeds when on display ..
The zeds are a pain because of the decals..
They mark so easy..
I am buying tomorrow a set of gold arya aero rims with high flange hubs which was my second choice after the zeds..
But it might not work as you don't want too much gold or it will look too blingy if you know what I mean..
I would go for the comp 111's they look much better..
I have both sets fitted ..
Comp 111. race

Kenda k55.. freestyle

Cheers..

It's not original paint Ady and the paint job is awful hence the need for a re-paint. I'll definitely be getting new decals done by Del.
I know what you mean about too much gold ....it can look too bling... You seem to have got the balance right.. Spot on fella!
I guess I could have the tuffs for riding if I go down the 7x/Z rim root!
Cheers for the input mate. Much appreciated dude! :4_17_5:
