R.A,D the movie, redline rl20ii

I'm sure I've asked this somewhere
so forgive me if it was here, but after watching rad again the other night I just wondered
if anyone can tell me who was tricking the hazard yellow rl20ii at the start and the end of the movie
Was is Mike D?

I mean the movie itself is utter plop but those opening sequences when the music starts still give me goosebumps
sad as that is!  :-[
