Brake blocks for Skyway wheels

(1/1)

CurtisEXP:
Hi guys,

I got hold of a Torker MX a while ago, which came with some white Skyway Tuff IIs.

Could I use original Dia-compe brake pads (the Tan version) which I have got? Or would it be better to track down some Skyway pads which I would need to find?

This is going to be a rider, so there is a practical 'can I stop' question. But also, would the tan blocks mark the rims bearing in mind they are white.

I would appreciate the benefit of your superior knowledge.

Nick

Gnarlyscoots:
All pads will mark the rims, regardless of what you use Nick, sorry buddy.

I would try some of the new school clear pads on them, as the Dia-Compe pads are rubbish on alloy rims, let alone Nylon.

I have found that even the Skyway Pro pads don't work that well either  :(

Taipan:
I agree with Gnarly but if your feeling flush and want old school originality you could always buy these?

Ouch! That's a bit rich for me  :)

Thanks both. In the interest of safety I will give Terry's advice a go. Looking forward to getting back in the saddle  :daumenhoch:

as Terry said ALL blocks will mark white rims....but it's fairly easy to sand out 'brake rub' on the rims. New school clear pads work great on Skyways....you will actually be able to endo!.......but will Squeak a bit!  :daumenhoch:
