Mongoose Pro Class Rim Tape
Retrodan72:
We regularly have threads on here, asking if anyone knows where you can get this from. There was a seller on US eBay, selling a pair for around £22.
Some of you may have already spotted this on eBay, but there is now a seller in the UK, doing them for £15 posted. He hasn't got as many colours as the US seller, but has the main ones you'd probably need.
He also does these for 24" Pro Class rims too.

Great info Dan 👍🏼
MrD:
Hi chaps,
Looking at sorting/sourcing some 80's Pro Class rim strips. Can the Mongoose masters please enlighten me on the following fistblump
1. What were the original colours available at the time? Blue/Red/Black - And probably Yellow? (any greater detail/pics of OG colours would be great) For those in certain a certain industry a Pantone number would be great.
2. Were they always made from coloured plastic/Mylar (Am I correct in assuming the foil/anodised look is a current rebuild choice - due to ease of material) - Oh and insulating tape ;)
3. I have 1 original black one that is gold foil backed - were they all gold foil backed - Was this gold foil backed side ever used as a finish on the wheel?
Thanks for any help/input
MrD
Spen69:
Hi mate, they were only ever foil made and black on gold, or blue on red. The gold was never used from what I recall, but happy to be corrected :daumenhoch:

Spen's pretty much nailed it there..... but..... the pro-class Series III hard anodized have gold :daumenhoch:
