The 'Show Us Your Aero Pro' Thread.

You see very few of these here on RAD, probably a stigma associated with the Burner name. But really, what's not to like, Tange made, so good quality, good geometry, light and as factory spec, came with some decent components.
So let's dedicate this thread to Aero Pro's/Team Aero Pro's/Pro Race's.

I don't understand the burner stigma. A lot of people starting out in bmx rode burners or other low end bikes. Most of my mates and me included started out on low end bikes, and I think to most people their first bmx will always be the one they have the fondest memories of.

I agree mate, I never had one BITD, but have built a few since 2008. Their best attribute is the waves of nostalgia that they create, but their worst are that they're heavy with poor geometry, not that many of us would have cared back then - you got what you were given.

Because with the exception of the Aero Pro, they were shocking....heavy and rubbish to ride due to the geometry. Sure, a lot of people started on them and for that reason they have a high nostalgic value. Some of them actually came with half decent parts but were all hampered by the frame. They may also have been the reason why many did not progress in BMX! Anyone who was half serious about riding couldn't wait til they had saved/ scrounged enough to upgrade at least the frameset.
My first BMX was not much better, a HEAVY Taiwanese Dragon freestyler which I struggled to wheelie...I hated it and could not wait to see the back of it...It has taken 30 years and lots of narcotics to erase all but a vague recollection of it!
if someone offered me one today I would probably feel sick......
BTW great thread Dan, love an Aero Pro...Will be nice to see what turns up...I would love one in team colours :daumenhoch:
