Stem wedge stuck in forks...

(1/1)

brass monkey!:
Anyone got a tip on removing a 'stuck' stem bolt wedge from a a pair of forks?

I'm reluctant to give it too much of a bash - should I soak the wedge and use the stem bolt, scewed in from the underside to ease it out (with a hammer) or is there another safer way. :-[

Is it just the wedge itself stuck?
soaking, threading in an old bolt and knocking from underneath sounds just the ticket  :daumenhoch:

indeed, just the wedge - i have removed the stem, and forks from the frame... i'm guessing it needs to come out the way it went in, so planning to soak, and bash from the bottom (ooorrr errr missus !) :crazy2: using the stem bolt sccrewed in the wedge from the underside, unless i can find a long piece of metal which is a similar width to the wedge?

you get me?

That would be the way I'd do it  :daumenhoch:
