I Said Goodbye To An Old Friend.
Retrodan72:
It wasn't an easy decision to get rid of this, as it was a 'close to' replica of what I had as a kid, and as soon as I got back into this hobby in 2008, I knew I had to build one.
I got it in 2013, and I have to say, really loved building it, and got some real waves of nostalgia sourcing the right bits for it.
But, and it's a big but, the nostalgia was soon crushed by the reality that these are really heavy and the geometry is shocking. Ok, perhaps I'm being a little unfair, and maybe I'm biased as I'm used to riding race bikes now, but I knew, deep down that this was never going to be ridden, which in my opinion, as a terrible waste of a bike.
So, when something was put in front of me that I really wanted, I had to get rid of this, as I'm sticking to a 'one in - one out' policy now (maybe?).
So here is the Piranha, off to its new owner, as we speak.

A hard choice dan, and the reason I've done a rep of my childhood burner. But they're there to be ridden not hidden.
dancetothedrummersbeat:
Great story Dan. It's a shame it has to go, but you've found it, built it and enjoyed it. Time to let someone else enjoy it :daumenhoch:
chubby:
What's a "race bike" ???
factory pilot:
I've not had to go through this kind of break up yet Dan but my heart goes out to you.. I'll feel like I'm losing a child or a son when I have to let one of my babies go... Sadly for me we've decided ( Jo and I :LolLolLolLol: ) that it's gonna have to be a one in one out policy for me too even when the man caves up and running due to lack of space :'(
