1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour (Friday fun purchase!)
tfi_friday:
Time to have a go at lacing up and truing the wheels.
Took a couple of efforts to get the pattern right but got it sorted:
Then it was time to MacGyver a truing stand, from a Trickstar and three lollipop sticks.
And mounted to some GT rubber
tfi_friday:
Next up, the Nippon that was originally anodized black got the SBD treatment. (Still need to have the QR mounted again)
SBD powder:
Sharpie Oil Paint pen, neatly done... *cough*
Thankfully a bit of elbow grease and some polish tided it up:
tfi_friday:
Now the fun starts...
BB cups
Headset cups and Gyro
Freestyle GT Epoch
1987 GT Seat clamp that originally came with the bike
tfi_friday:
Now some SR bits and bobs...
SR stamped GT Mallet
SR stamped GT Power Series Cranks and SR SP-474 Pedals
And I just noticed a nice detail on the Power Series Locknut... GT stamped :D
tfi_friday:
Ran into a bit of a problem though with the rear frame Standers. "help"
Test fitted them, and they won't sit fluch to the drop out when mounted... bit of tweaking to do, so I dont mess up the powder coat on the frame.
That's all I managed today, but couldnt resist to see how the wheel looked on.
