Must admit I never ride without both brakes .As you say the old schiol bikes are probably a bit twitchier than today's offerings

Seems more are into street riding now rather than doing freestyle tricks like I remember probably why they don't need the brakes nowadays

I'm sure it's a fashion thing almost as much as a weight-loss thing
I get it if you're an amazing park rider, but seeing kids wearing out their trainers going down a hill just doesn't make sense to me - they're lucky they don't end up under a bus

Pretty sure I wouldn't have the bottle to go brakeless these days don't bounce the same

Its not a fashion thing ... the youth love super hard phat tyres and no brakes ... its just more soulful ... you have to accept the speed and work with the flow.

Also advance skill levels needed to balance ... a guy who goes to the parks we ride also sometimes rides chainless as it makes it easier to ride with a chain after  :4_17_5:
