I agree with a lot of your points mate ... The one vote system makes you choose ONE bike ... I agree with you in that I always voted in this system for the bike I actually would like to own out of those on offer.
You are not wrong when you state how much time, effort, patience, friendship and ( although not the most important ) money goes into our Rad builds.  :daumenhoch: :4_17_5:

Cheers Ant,the money part wasn't put there in any sort of order but it plays a big part as parts & the availability of them become more scarce the price shoots up, let alone the disposable income to afford them. This obviously affects the outcome of how a bike is built or how long it takes to build it.Just to add this doesn't affect my vote but is part of the effort it takes to build.

The three vote system also makes it unfair as a bike could win easily by default just by being most voters 3rd choice. As there is no weighting system it sort of becomes the luck of the draw rather than the single vote system.

pickle:
I guess whatever voting system is used it will never please everyone.  From my own personal view, I have no interest on how much anyone spends on a part or a frame as it has no baring on the way I vote.  a well put together original POS can be much more interesting to me than a repowdered blinged up HUTCH or JMC but unfortunately they always tend to win.
Now the time and effort put in? that's another matter alltogether, which is often why I've voted for friends bikes in the past as I know exactly what has gone into building it.....nothing to do with him being a mate but just the dedication and effort involved in bringing the bike together  :daumenhoch:

My take on public vs anonymous voting..
I think that some people might feel a degree of pressure to vote for mates, when really they may prefer a bike built by someone else. Public voting may also cause people to be swayed to try and alter the course of voting.

The 3 vote thing..
Although it wouldn't put me off entering, there are people who pour their hearts (& money) into building a bike but are still reluctant to enter BOTM if they see someone has already entered something truly exotic/rare/expensive/whatever and they think they'll have no chance of even getting a vote. Having 3 votes available means that the bike with the most votes still wins, but also allows other builds to at least get some recognition for the effort that's gone into them. In any case, if people prefer the one vote system they can simply use one vote.

The money part doesn't enter into it w/me either. It was just taken out of context. With money considered only as part of the effort & dedication that gets put into it.
I've waited for parts for years & i'm still waiting to finish builds as i'm sure many others are.I haven't even put a build up yet but that doesn't mean i don't appreciate others efforts.Last month i voted for Steve's MRD though there were some wicked top end expensive & mint builds to vote for so i just go by what catches me at the time.  :daumenhoch:

Just to add that i'd prefer a real nice OG survivor over a mint factory spec build any day but still go w/how the builds grab me.
