Custom Vincent Frames in 87

(1/3) > >>

factory pilot:
I've got some later copies of Freestyle BMX that I got from Alan's and I stumbled across this article on custom Vincent frames that were made ...

According to the article you could design your own frameset and have any crazy colour combo you wanted ...

Anybody know anything more on these..
How many customs were actually made ?
Are there any survivors of these out there ?

I do vaguely remember this, although had long forgotten about it til now! I certainly remember them doing a service like Dp did where you could send your frame/ forks/bars to Vincent for a custom paint job. £100 for a custom frame seems awesome value when you consider most good American frames were £150 ish at the time.
the trouble is probably only the most experienced riders would have known what they wanted as regards frame geometry. If someone hd offered to build me custom frame back then I wouldn't of had a clue what to specify!! I wonder if Pepe Winder had a custom frame/s when he rode for Vincent?

It's does mention that Pepe and Paul Hudsion  had a hand in the designs in the article mate  :daumenhoch:

I had an Airzone with custom paint, base was ford Olympic blue & electric blue where all the tubes met, I got it from custom riders. It was bent & cracked after a couple of weeks, like most Airzones!
