New Beginnings
Gashead:
Morning Radsters,
Now I'm not the best author in the world, and spelling has never been my strong point, yet my passion for BMX is, so too is RADBMX.....
Over the last few days we have lost a dear friend, being Dan Cash Stephenson in a horrific accident on one of our rides. Our prayers go out to his partner Nicola and his children, and of course his close freinds, of which you all are. RIP Dan, you will be missed yet still loved and remembered by us all.
Over the next few days we as a community will find a way of how we can support Nicole, whether that be by a collection, trust fund or whatever, however we will unite together.
Rad in its past has evolved and grown, we have made many friends and lost many freinds. We have also tried our best, yet sometimes we get things wrong, and have upset people along the way, this is never an intention.
Dan was a caring lad and had his feet in every BMX camp going, he would go on any ride, any event regardless of the tshirt being worn, and I know from others that the 'rivalry' was a pet hate. We will never accept Dan's loss, and like Simon, The OM and many others, we will never forget them.
What we must do is forget the rivalry, I also appreciate that this situation has not been best dealt with over the years by me or the team, and for that I apologise.
Over the weekend I have spoken to Steph and passed on my regards to the loss of a dear friend, we have subsequently spoken and also said we would meet up for a beer. We have to leave the negative vibes behind, unite and share our passion for BMX. We all have opinions and I'm sure all will never completely agree, however we have to remember, this is a hobbie we share, a hobbie we love, and it's a hobbie we are all so passionate about. We are determined to work together, and make sure that a positive happy vibe is there for you all, including us, get the BMX spirit back that we all love. Between us we can make this happen, and hope we all pull together as one big bunch.
I'm not sure what the future holds, nobody does, but we will pledge to make the O/S M/S BMX scene a scene to be proud of, a scene where we enjoy rides and gatherings together, and most importantly have a laugh.
It has proven that life is too S h o r t.
My message I know is reflected across the BMX comminity, however I don't want this to shadow the loss of Dan, yet if this does bring us together, then something good has happened, following his passing.
Once agian, RIP Dan Cash, see you on the lake ride buddy x
