Stuck and cut seat post

I'm sure there's a "how to..." thread but an alloy post can be disolved with acid that won't touch the steel frame.

Not got time to search but this is definitely the way forward unless you have access to a machine shop and actually less risky of damaging the frame.

However if you need the tube extending afterwards you might just be better off getting it replaced so Phil Sawzall on here is your man. The guy is a legend with a welder  :coolsmiley:

caustic works great but it's nasty stuff and if its a thick post it can take a while. It can also have a "welding" effect so once you start you have to see it through

Think I'm going to give Phil a shout as there's a few other bits I'd like to get sorted on the frame, thanks for the shout well  appreciated, I'd make a right mess with the acid route  :daumenhoch:
