Difference between chain's

I've never bothered about what chain before as I've just bought a kmc but this time I'm after a gold chain.

So what's the actual benifit of a Izumi v kmc, looks wise the Izumi appears to look a better finish of gold than the kmc. This though could be down to the quality of photo's.

I've got an Izumi on my Kuwi and some of the links are going rusty, never had this issue with any KMC chains I've had.

That surprises me as the izumi is nearly 2.5 times as much as the kmc so you'd expect better quality
