If I have this right! ??? The above from Porkchop USA converts a side pull to a canti-lever. But can you do the opposite to this? In other words convert a canti-lever mount with some sort of plate for a normal old school caliper? :-\

Is this because you have forks that aren't drilled to accept a sidepull but have 990 lugs?
I'm not sure if you're meaning U-brake when you say canti-lever. If you mean the ones that you find on MTBs and BMX race bikes, those brakes have their lugs closer to the dropout. I'm sure I've seen plates like the Boomerang for fitting them onto non-equipped frames or forks.

Looking to use the lugs on the rear with some sort of conversion plate and use an old 901 I have as there is no brake bridge with hole. :-\ :daumenhoch:

Look for a v-brake booster/stiffener plate.Although not designed for the job you have in mind,you may be able to bodge it..I did this for someone years ago,wasn`t pretty.Think I had to remove the v-brake posts and fit the plate as close to the seatstays as possible.
