Just loved the the extra tubing on my rebel ..

The details on the pre 85 loopy ripper are nice. From the rear dropouts to the plate covering the top of the seat stays, to the subtle gusset. Beautifully done

For me it was always pierced tubing bitd. Always loved GT's and Jmc's down the local track for just that reason, then the king of all (and as already said, I appreciate this is an acquired taste) VDC, loved the Changa and Monkey bars as a kid, probably the bike i drooled over most back then (mind you there was also ripper's & quad's, ripper tubing and welds, quad frame design, oh and LG's  :smitten:).

Nowadays, VDC Freestyle/Trix/Powerlite freestyle/Freeagent Freestyle forks, love the peg design. Then vintage wise it would be the whole goose 1 frame design.

The machined rear of the seat tube was also sexy on that year
