This is a newb question but what the hell.
A Dia Compe FS 880 caliper looks very different in construction to most others, why? :chin: Does the FS stand for 'free style'? If it does why?  :chin:
Just looking for a period brake for my GT Pro.

Some of the freestyle bods like Brett, Ant and a few others might know the answer...

Yes, the FS stands for freestyle as it was the first caliper which was interchangeable for potts mod ( you can swap the hardware) and also featured a low slung design for downtube clearance. The first ones came out in 84, most people don't tend to use them on race bikes but no reason why you couldn't  :daumenhoch:
