I would ask Alan Woods what he does with his in his stock room, all mine have come from there, and they're all still in great shape.  :D

I wouldn't recommend anything oil based (or vaseline), for the same reason you shouldn't use it as a sex lube with a latex condom

I also wouldn't put oil on my tyres because they're supposed to be grippy :teef:
