The question to 'restore or leave as is' is one we all come across often.

There is also some chrome peel on the rear dropouts that I don't have a pic of at the moment

Build it survivor and if it still bothers you in future you could always bring it with ya when you pop back to Blighty and get it seen to. ???

As long as the repair is good enough to hold up to some riding (assuming you're going to ride this baby), I'd agree with this...
