Cog ID
Mikku:
I was rummaging through a sale box in a Tokyo BMX shop the other day and found these 2 cogs in an unmarked bag. The only marking they have on them is the tooth size, and from what I can gather by looking at the splines and digging around online, they're either older Shimano DX cogs or Shimano-compatible ones. Being a bit of a newbie when it comes to cassette hubs, does anyone recognize 'em? Thanks in advance! :daumenhoch:

I'm sure early skyways had those type cogs too Mick :daumenhoch:

Thanks Lee! Now I just need to work out if I can use them! ::)

Nice little find Mick. They look like they could well fit Shimano cassette hubs. There were two different versions for BMX though and I think the cog fitting was different on them. Unfortunately I haven't got one here to check for sure. Suntour also made a BMX cassette hub. I guess they'd most likely be for a Japanese brand ;)

Not sure if this helps Mick but here's some shots of the Shimano cassette hubs from the 81 JBM catalogue:
