Bleaching tuffs

(1/2) > >>

GTBOB:
So I have some white alloy hubbed tuffs with a slight yellowing, I want them whiter than white. So October is not the best time for Peroxide Sunshine, so I’m going down the bleach route. I take the full axle bearings and nuts etc out, then grease the hubs, use cheap bleach that’s thin, do I ad salt ? What else is there for me to do ?

griff:
check the tech and resto section, there's lots of info on sorting tuffs out  :daumenhoch:

GTBOB:
I did have a look Griff, but I could only find info on peroxide 👍

oldschoolace:
Thin bleach, grease anything metal, erect seagull proof shelter, fish out, rinse well and "seal" with a liberal coating of wd40 is the usual route. May be worth looking into aquablasting too

deeman:
Peroxide would be the only route I would go. Bleaching and aqua blasting ruins them imo. Peroxide is far more 'sympathetic'
