That Swan Guy:
We need more!

So let’s all make an effort to post build threads on here.

The best, most informative, most detailed one will will a bag of NOS 80s Air!

hotdog:
I'll start with this 83 SE Quadangle.
Beginning in the spring of 2017 with a trip down the M6/M1,past MK (whoohoo!) to Stevenage to purchase a NOS frame, forks,'Big Boy' bars and a Kashi MX saddle.

The next step was to source some choice parts. I already had some Shimano DX pedals,an SE seatpost, the headset,Oakley grips and hubs so the big problem would be getting hold of a NOS pair of blue Z-rims. After throwing away £20 on an online raffle (never again) I found a set on Rainers Bmx website in Stuttgart,Germany. Instead of getting them shipped over I booked a flight and a couple  of nights hotel for £110 and made the Thursday to Saturday trip with 'Redline John'. Totally worth it!

Having ordered the spokes,a mate built up the wheels whilst I set about getting the rest of the parts together. The Sugino 1 piece crank, spider & chainring,Suntour stem,DC MX 1000's (changed from Shimano) and ACS seatpost clamp came via the internet. Clint (oldschoolace) supplied the bottom bracket.

I thought i'd build it up with re-pop tyres while looking for some blue Knarler Knobbies..

Nice start :daumenhoch:

Keep the tyres black though ;)

hotdog:
Finding the correct tyres to finish the build turned out to be a double-edged sword.  ::) A set came up on the Museum over in Florida so I dibbed, paid and waited for them to be shipped to a mates in San Francisco. I left the seller to it (he stated that he didn't like being pestered over shipping times) and waited. No comms for over 3 weeks,I decided to find out if he'd posted them. Yes he had. He eventually gave me a tracking number. They'd been delivered and left outside the door only to be stolen.. nice. He'd only insured them for half of his sale price too. Took him 45 days and numerous excuses to file a claim with Fedex. Leaving me $70 out of pocket. No appology. Thanks for that. Yeah... buyer beware.
A week later and a seller in France came up trumps!
