Just another GT build thread.............
That Swan Guy:
My dilemma:
I was going to build the Eddie Fiola World tour model from 85.

but then when the bike came complete there were too many original 86 parts to waste, and when that colour appeared it set me thinking and searching.

Not sure which colour combo yet but the possibilities are endless and as I have most of the parts it would be stupid not to especially with today's prices!

Now I've just got to tidy them all up!
The seat: GT not bad really, just rusty rails and guts. WIN!
The seat post was also caked in paint, turns out it's an unstamped GT post WIN!
The seat clamp apart form scrappy paint is an 86 GT wing stamped clamp. WIN!
The grips were ratty A'me rounds, ideal for a rat build and have already got to their new home.
The stem was a tidy SR MS-423, now in the capable hands of our very own Wini.
The bars are also badly painted, except the grip area :LolLolLolLol: they are GT Pro bars. WIN!
Headset is a generic factory fitted headset.
It only had a back brake which turned out to be a DC 890 with a DC tech 4 and dated 85 DC cable. Ratty but ideal for a survivor build.
The crank was a factory spec SR tubular 175 in awesome condition. WIN!
The chain wheel is stamped GT cheese grater 43T in very good condition.......Unsure as I see them as 87, but very very tidy. DRAW!
The pedals were factory spec (on Peformers) SR 519, switching to 470s.
The wheels are obviously OGK GT Performer mags. Man they run sweet (only issue is brake rub, what a fcuker to remove!) WIN!
So in essence, with a lot of elbow grease, Jiff and a bit of SBD magic I think I can bring her back to life in some sort of former 1986 GT glory.
I'll keep you posted.
ps Carlos you're an :nickswan: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
Retrodan72:
