Stainless or zinc

Chilli Rinse:
So guys, I've found some half width lock nuts to use on my spinner pegs as the originals were missing when I got them. What finish should they be though ? I've found stainless and zinc plated. Anyone know what the originals would have been ? Or have an opinion on choice. I'm thinking zinc !
