Seat Tube Replacement Required, who can do it ?
Sanmarcopizza:
I have an 84 GT Performer and the seat post is trashed and has a seat post chemically welded into to. Anyone know anyone that can do a quality full seat tube replacement and have an idea of price ?

sawzall:
why not get seat post drilled out i did one on a rickman, took a while but removed about 6"of the post enough to get new post in
MartyC:
As Sawzall says, drilling it out would probably be the easiest and least invasive option, it will take some time but would defo be worth it. A good machine shop with a "reamer" (q jokes) should be able to do it if it's a steel post, if it's alloy a good set of high speed steel drill bits in extra large sizes should do it. The other alternative is to cut it out from the inside with a hack saw (starting from inside the seat post), very time consuming (and hard on the hands) but also has the desired effect :daumenhoch:
