Brake prob's
Gashead:
:-\ Im running a set of Ukai's on my DP with s set of MX 1000's with the standard block's (dia compe) - front brake perfect for endo's and stuff - its on taken me 37 years ! Back brake is shite - it pulls ok but just keeps slipping !!
What pads are best to run on these rims - are the dia comps ok or am I just an over weight noddy !
selfpreservation:
are you running good cables ? also check that the hole in the brake bridge isnt worn to buggerry so the whole caliper wobbles about when you brake if so you need to invent a shim of some sort to go over the mounting post
Gashead:
New ish dia compe cable and the bridge is fine ! ??? I may try some different pads I think
Sanmarcopizza:
If you are riding seriously, you may want to think about changing the cable inner for something a bit more modern. An old DC cable will still stretch considerably even if it is NOS. Make sure the rim is grease free, use somehting like meths to clean it. Take the pads off and wash them in warm soapy water to de-grease, then rough the braking surface with clean sand paper.
Gashead:
Cheers San - will give that a try - did you say serious riding :LolLolLolLol: Endo's and bunny hops spring to mind mate :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
