It can be done, but it means removing the adjuster and putting the cable clamp in its place :daumenhoch:
dordymush:
i've done it a couple of times.
what you need to do is drill the quick release out.
the the micro adjuster needs to go in its place.
i think you need to drill the hole out a little bit bigger to get it in.
dont forget that the micro goes in backwards after.
you can use the cable holder off your quick release in the top hole then as well.
job done.
selfpreservation:
you need to get other adjuster and bolt from another brakeset (i used an acs boa) for best results , take the mx 1000 auto adjuster off and take the cable fixing bolt off the quick release use the adjuster off the other brakeset you need one with the nut on pretty standard on most bikes fit it on the quick release so that the the nut sits flush with the flat part of the mount this will allow you to adjust cable tension , if you put it in the opposite way the nut will just spin , it sound complacated but it will only go in two ways and if you fit it youll see what i mean
now fit the fixing bolt from the other brakeset to the top hole , you cant use the fixing bolt you took out of the mx1000 cause it is round section and the hole is not round , most other fixing bolts will fit right in , i dont see why you cant repaint or powder the calipers as some are painted and some are powdered on the first place
clear as mud but if you fiddle about with it youll soon see what i mean
selfpreservation:
the way i have done mine means it is easily reversed and doesnt damage the calpier in any way
heres some pics
