yeah sorry forgot to add that 44:16 or its equivalant is just the average gearing run by most bmxers

For racers 44 :16 was the norm depending on the track length and the straights, I was always what the old skool would class as a pusher ( no rude remarks now) higher front gear 44 45 46 were as some were classed as spinners low gears < 44 43 42 41 40 39 all on 16 15 17 Rear wheel it really depends on your style of riding what suits you best.

Just got back in to racing forgot all this checked out the bike set up which was on a 41 17 on a cruisrer

no good for me changed it to a 42 43 and 44 17 which helped me know end, well a little felt like I was getting some where with less effort
