STAMPED OR UNSTAMPED FORKS-WTF ?

Hi

Can someone clarify something for me ? What's the difference between stamped and unstamped forks ?
Fairly new to all of this,so would appreciate the knowledge share.

the first version of landing gears where unstamped  then later on as copies where being made they then brought out stamped version with se bottom of forks    then there are the copies which have 4 holes on the drop outs and rubbish welds

Yeah as Dan says some have SE stamped on them & some don't..
