seat post removal !

lee i had one to remove for darren from a rickman frame,the only way i could get it out was to drill it, took ages but got it out in the end ;)

to be a bit more constructive lee, if you don't need the post, the thing to do is as follows.

get a welder(or somebody off here, me included if you pay the postage) to weld on the inside of the post a pice of metal that you can thwack in an upward direction. then heat the aluminium with a hairdryer till it's really hot, it will expand much more than steel. then when hot, commence thwacking. works for me. Normally if there is visible seatpost sticking out of the top, you thwack it down so that it loosens(just a little bit) , and then clamp in vice(and i mean 'till it's flat between the jaws) and turn the frame twisting the post out gradually.
