Redline flight dimple/non-dimple spindle

Does anyone out there know the difference between a dimple spindle and non-dimple spindle on 401's. Why are the dimple one's supposed to be better etc...   ???

i've wondered that myself.
i've got the dimpled one with my set.

the dimpled ones are thicker and dont have the threaded bits just welded on each end

If they dont have threaded bits does that mean you can't put a threaded bottom bracket on it.

yup, if no threads then it should be the sealed version
