Multiple items in the for sale section
« on: February 15, 2007, 04:57 PM »
How frustating is it for you item in the for sale section to be bumped back to the second page when someone lists about 20 items individually instead of in the same thead.

I point I tried to convey in the Oakley fiasco today......Lxix claiming he hardly lists anything when the other day he had 3 on the first page of for sale and 8 on 2nd. And don't take this personally lxix, 69'ner etc and start an argument I'm just using that as an example, lots of us are guilty of it at times.....And I think spacefruit or maybe it was yourself zippy, pointed out the other day for people to not use for sale to highlight what they've put on ebay....

I agree that multiple items should all be listed on the same post but i think people should also be able to post a link to items they are selling on E-Bay. This is obviously helpful when selling and also when looking for items...

I would agree that listing items indivualy does bump the thread very very quickly

maybe sell all in one go ?

what do others think ?

I am sure we can all come up with a way to avoid it a bit

ebay links ? 50 / 50 for me yes OK , but moves the board as quick

unread posts is a good way to keep up , but diff strokes for diff folks

Lets debate

a mass one

i think that anything that sells should get took off by the member that posted it.
always gets me that one.
a post with sold on the end of it.
just delete it then another thing comes back up.

ok.

sometimes people dont read£ loads of stuff for sale threads.

if you have a specific item, its likely to attract more buyers.

i reckon a ad, with a definate price , no dib dobs, or if your unsure,  a link to ebay, is the way o go.

Yea I was all for no replys , but have seen that it is not such a great idea , you cant drop prices , add pics . I reckon non sale related posts could be brought down a bit and try to stick to

for sale Bla blah

i will buy it

sold

might help
although i bet the sellers like the bump lol

Rich :)

Can members delete their own posts, am I just being a div and don't know how to do it? I'd gladly get rid of a sale post when it's done and dusted or if a thread goes way off point and becomes a playground for mud slinging. If it can't be done I think the best way is modifying the title to say 'Sold" rather than adding it to the post with then useless information being bumped.  Or if you express an interest in an item to do it by pm rather than replying. It can probably only improve by individuals discipline and descretion, it'll be a bugger to convert the masses....

yes they can

Yes they can delete their own thread? How please and thankyou?

Another question, how about sticky "for sale" items that have a donation to rad (ie John's stickers etc) and raffles be placed in the radbmx shop section. The first 7 spaces have items that have taken a permenant place in an area with a high turnover of movement, where the shop might be a more suited home to items that are aimed at having a longer shelf life....

*****I found what Bru suggested below and by jiminy it worked! A life changing tip, thanks Bru*****

mark i was thinking that myself.
i'll move them in the shop for a bit to see how it goes.
i think they've cooled off a bit now anyway.
