spesh:
got an 05 gt 24" cruiser which im fitting old school parts to
problem is ive got a v-brake on the rear and a hole in the frame to mount a normal brake do i >
grind the v-brake mounts off and fit the mx1000 (copy) which ive already got to match the front
or do i leave as is with the v-brake which wont match anything

what do i do?

MartyC:
Dude, don't grind them off

You might be able to unscrew the threaded sections from the mounts, if not Hope and X-Lite sell some alloy jobbies to put over them for MTB bikes that use Disc brakes.  Nothing wrong with keeping the V-brake, just change it to a Dia Compe MXII or Shimano BMX V  :daumenhoch:

I would check my GT24 to see if you can unscrew them but it's in the garage and cold  :LolLolLolLol:

spesh:
yeah i think they do unscrew but i was thinking about removing the whole lot and having a nice smooth tube
but then if i leave them i could revert back to a v if needed
cheers mate that given me something to think about :daumenhoch:

lazychubs:
can ya just buy the bits that unscrew as i need a pair lol

Rhys, you should be able to, I'll ask my mate who runs an MTB/Road shop  :daumenhoch:
