V-Brake lugged frames

Do you have to run v-brakes on race frames, or can you set them up for freestlyle brakes and which to go for if you can. Do I recall,Mr Spacefruit that you were setting up a new Ripper for freestyle? what brakes will be /are on it?

if you have v brake lugs, you need to run a v brake or cantis

ad 990 lugs are in a different position

i run v brakes on the back of my ripper for over 4 years with no trubs. only mither was that i couldnt run a gyro

as ruler says, you need to run v's or cantis. but they are good brakes, and work well.

the main reason for the freestyle ripper, was weight, its light as fook, has 1/8th forks, and has sealed hubs, and a cassette so izaak can change the gearing right doen if he wants to, to lose more weight.

probably not good for gyro, but, you can just run a long rear cable, as this will wrap round a couple of times, especially if you get a linear slick cable, which perform well under this stress.

why cant you put a gyro on v brakes? aint it just a case of pulling the cable? ???

the v brake requires more pull

look closely at a v brake lever - it's different to a normal one
