Frame with small crack
Dark Diggler:
Right chaps, I have in my greasy and slightly over familiar hands a nice robinson expert frame, but it has a crack about 1cm long at the top of the steerer tube, right in the centre and coming down from where the top headset cup is. The thing is, Its owner wants it minto and happily wull pay but he dont want to spend pointless doh! so any Ideas? could the crack be filled and then off to the chromers? or can it be cosmetically disguised, It would have to look amazing tho, It obviously will not be getting any stick so structual strength I think is ok.
HELP :daumenhoch:
harris:
if you take it to an industrial estate, look for a machine shop or fabricators
if its that small they will touch it with a tig for about £10.
Rombloke:
the only real way to get rid of this unsightly crack is to have the frame stripped, rewelded, and rechromed.
thats if you want a proper job.
sorry not much help
Dave
Jt:
thats the answer..good job i have deep pockets then...crack on bruv, but see if we can aviod being bummed in the process....especially by the purps.
Zippy:
Is this a race bike or a show bike.
If it's a race bike just get rid of it and buy a Robinson Pro instead because you can get them for 100 pounds.
If it's a show bike then go ahead and get it done properly.
